OUR STORY

MEET THE DESIGNER

From a young age, Diana López, a Mexican fashion designer, felt a deep connection to the textiles of the Isthmus of Tehuantepec, Oaxaca.

This love for her parents' traditions blossomed during her university education in Mexico, where an academic project inspired her to create a fashion brand that utilized these fabulous textile embroidery techniques, crafted by talented indigenous women from the Isthmus region, to reinvent them into luxurious and beautiful contemporary products, preserving cultural heritage and economically supporting these communities.

A summer specialization in Barcelona, Spain, introduced her to the art of handbag manufacturing. Fascinated by its precision and beauty, she developed her thesis: “From Traditional Textile to Fashion Object.”

The success of this project led her to establish her brand, Quichí.

 OUR PRIORITY:

TIMELESS CRAFTSMANSHIP.

Combining the talent of experienced oaxacan indigenous embroidery artists and the mastery of leather artisans from León, Guanajuato, Mexico, Diana has created with her team exceptional handbag collections all over a decade, always upholding the principles of artisanal craftsmanship.

OUR JOURNEY

FROM OAXACA TO THE WORLD

Her expertise led her win in 2017 in the contest Muestra de Moda Mexicana in Barcelona, Spain.

For years, at Quichí, we have dreamed of the world knowing the beautiful artisanal embroidery work of mexican people. This was the very first time for the brand to exhibite our brand internationally, at the Centre d’Artesanies de Catalunya.

On May 28, 2024, we celebrated the launch of our brand into the Nordics: the first pre-view event of our collection in Stavanger, Norway.

After a decade of work, Quichí continues to seek to expand mexican design internationally.
